Softball Sask hosting player & coach development sessions
Softball Sask has partnered up with their Sport Medicine and Science Council to host a number of zoom sessions to help athletes and coaches continue their development this fall. They are also able to provide their Competition Introduction Certified & Competition Development Certified coaches 1 PD point per session. In order to obtain that 1 point you must be on the session for the full hour.
All sessions are on Sundays from 8:00pm - 9:00pm and our free of charge
Ryan Flett PhD has worked with Softball teams over the past 20 years, and will be facilitating all the sessions
- Oct. 20 - Sleep & Performance - for players & coaches - 1-hr educational session on sleep quality and quantity, deprivation, effects on sleep through travel, nutrition, exercise and mental, medical considerations, and how to sleep better
- Oct. 27 - Mental Performance: Team building & group dynamics - for players & coaches - 1-hr workshop educating on cohesion, trust, and team building.
- Nov. 3 - Mental Performance - Goal Setting & Mental Toughness - for players & coaches - 1 hr workshop educating on goal setting, setting realistic short term & long-term goals, monitoring goals.
- Remembrance Day & Grey Cup break
- Nov. 24 -Mental Imagery & Self Talk - for player & coaches - 1 hr workshop educating on how to use mental imagery & visualization effectively. We will also explore Self-Talk and Negative thought.
- December -Routines & Ideal Performance State - for players & coaches - 1 hr workshop educating on how to use routines & practices effectively. We will also explore the factors and barriers in achieving one’s IPS.
